My internship at Livework ended before Christmas 2013 and I am now back at AHO (The Oslo School of Architecture and Design) to finish the last year of my MA degree in Industrial Design. First up is the a course in Systems Oriented Design (SOD) working with the Acute Psychiatric Ward at Oslo University Hospital, Ullevål.
We’ve initially been approached with a case regarding the seclusion unit in on of the acute psychiatric wards, but an important part of the SOD approach is to analyze the system and really understand the different actors at hand and why it is like it is today. Then we can attack the assignment and see what good we can to for the ward.
The case is unbelievably interesting and I have the great advantage of working with a large group of committed and inspiring people. We’ve recently had a workshop with 11 participants and I am now about to embark on the adventure to decode all the information we produced together in the three hours we had available.
